LONDON FASHION WEEK | DAY 1 COLLECTION REVIEWS

London Fashion Week began with more of a whisper than a bang. Not only because of the muted color palettes but the thread of soft femininity that seemed to link all the collections. Even collections that featured bright punchy colors and tailored pieces oozed a certain ladylike ease. There were some misses to this point, however, the hits certainly had the fashion crowd excited to see what London had to offer for Spring/Summer 2016.

Here are 8 of the 15 designers that were on the official calendar for day one and some of my favorite looks from their collections

BEST OF LONDON FASHION WEEK FALL/WINTER 2015 | DAY 5

The last day of London fashion week was just as exciting as the first and In true London style we were left buzzing. There were a combination of crazy, irreverent, bold, clean, structured and inspired designs that appealed to every type of personal style.
Here are a few are my picks of the day from Ryan Lo, Ashish, Emilio de la Morena, Marques' Almeida, Christopher Raeburn, Michael van der Ham, Ashley Williams and my two favorites of the day, Anya Hindmarch and AllSaints

MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARD RED CARPET LOOKS

So I woke up this morning, excited to look through all the VMA red carpet looks. After looking through, all I can say, with the exception of a few, is that I was bored, disappointed and in one or two cases, horrified (here's looking at you Amber Rose).

I am disappointed first of all at the fact that there is no art in dressing anymore. I cannot count how many times I saw outfits that failed the most basic guidelines of style, fit, proportion and body type. Even more disheartening is the amount of money many of theses celebs pay "stylists" who have no comprehension of the basics. Here's a quote that kept running through my head as I looked through the pictures "Just because a look is trendy does not mean you forget how a garment should fall and flatter your body" I'll trademark that later lol.

Here are a list of my absolute favorites (JLO! JLO! JLO!), several that made me yawn and my worst of the evening. Click below to check them out.

Favorite Magazine Covers of the Month.

Karen Elson for Numero June/July 2014 by Victor Demarchelier
Every month I search the internet for the covers of fashion magazines so I can find inspiration. This month I have decided to share them with you. I will be choosing one of these looks to recreate in a YouTube Video so I need your help to decide on one cover. I am leaning towards the bronzed look on the cover of Archetype, what look would you like to learn to recreate? Continue reading to take the poll at the end.

CFDA's 2014 Fashion Icon Winner - Robyn "Rihanna" Fenty

Rihanna has always been one of my celebrity style muses. I am so happy for her on winning this award because no other celebrity deserves it except her. She uses fashion to express herself, she uses it to push "boundaries" society sets and she even inspires and more dares us to be more brave in our expression of life.

The dress Rihanna chose to wear was nothing short of stunning and appropriate. What else do you wear to receive a fashion icon award? except an iconic look. She simply was that, iconic and this look will always be referred to as one of the best and most daring looks in fashion for many years to come.

LUST PIECE(S) OF THE DAY - DIOR SS '14 HANDBAGS

Raf Simmon's Spring/Summer 2014 collection for Dior was one of my favorites of the Spring/Summer runway season. "Traveller, Transformer, Transporter" was the theme for the collection. Each adjective was used to define the types of women the collection was made for. I also loved how the theme was carried through beautifully to the accessories.

NYFW FALL 2014 STREET STYLE

This year I have been very lucky to be in NYC during fashion week. On day 1, I decided to go to Lincoln center with camera in tow to take pictures of the stylish people going in and out and hanging around the venue. I met great people, fellow bloggers, stylists, editors and a role model of mine in the fashion industry and I got to chat with her as she walked to a meeting (Read more in my daily fashion week diary here)

Here are some of the street style I was able to capture. Enjoy!
